Tupelo motorists are in a frustrated clamor over a train that is blocking many streets in the area. Did it break down? Is it stopping to see the sights?
No – a local man, in lieu of waiting for the train to come through, tried to outrun it across the tracks. He failed.
In the process of failing, the man received a broken leg, but nothing life threatening. Roads are blocked off from Jefferson westward to Lumpkin St. They separated the train to keep Crosstown open, and an investigation is pending – if there’s anything to investigate.
