SCAD Hong Kong Workshop Series: Chinese Seal Carving Demonstration on November 1

Originating 2,000 years ago in China, seal carving started from practical use of authenticating government documents and has now evolved into a specialized art form. SCAD painting professor Josh Yu will give a brief overview of the history of seal carving, introduce materials and tools, and demonstrate the process of carving a seal from beginning to end. Some examples of carved seals will be on display as well.

Students will learn more about SCAD Hong Kong, including academic courses and programs, student life and the application process.

This unique opportunity for students is sponsored by SCAD Study Abroad.

The workshop is free and open to SCAD professors, staff and students.
